SOLUTION ON ERROR MESSAGE!

For those affected by the message “Do you want to open WebPrintClient for Windows” constantly popping up, here comes a solution.

The error is due to a bug that was introduced in Chrome version 77 which is currently being rolled out worldwide. Every user who has extensions like us in the browser gets asked if you want to approve the plugin every time it is used. The “Always allow” checkbox has disappeared. In anticipation of Google fixing this, we have built a small gadget that removes the issue and here is what you or someone in IT can do for you.

  • Download the file you find on the link below.
  • Shut down Chrome to prevent it from running. (Here you may need help if the program says you have Chrome running even though it is not showing)
  • Run the program and if it works then a black box will appear for a short while and then shut down by itself.
  • Restart Chrome and now it will work without the issue popping up anymore.
  • Repeat the procedure on all affected machines.
  • For those of you who want to know more about the bug in Chrome, there are a couple of links that describe the error.
